Chelsea news: Cesc Fabregas admits he will be disappointed if Callum Hudson-Odoi does not become world class
Cesc Fabergas believes Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi has the potential to become world class.
The 18-year-old was excellent in the 2-0 FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest, assisting both of Alvaro Morata’s second-half goals as the Blues progressed into the fourth round.
His contract expires in June 2020 and he is reportedly a target for Bayern Munich who have made three bids for the player, the latest being in the region of £30million.
However, Fabregas feels Hudson-Odoi needs to remain grounded and he will eventually make it to the very top.
“He has got everything to make it in world football,” Fabregas said to Chelsea’s official website.
“I have told him that if he does not really make it at the very top I will be disappointed because he is one of these talents you can see can be fantastic.
“He can be world class, so he just needs to keep his feet on the ground, keep working hard.
“He is a humble boy, he really loves playing football and hopefully he can really make it very soon.”
A tearful Fabregas applauded all sides of Stamford Bridge as he made an emotional farewell on what is expected to be his final appearance for the club with a move to Monaco set to be completed next week.
