Liverpool have been ‘lucky’ over Firmino injury – Klopp

Jurgen Klopp thinks Roberto Firmino will come “close” to being fit for Wednesday’s Premier League fixture against Watford.

The Brazilian came off in the Reds’ 0-0 draw on the road at arch-rivals Manchester United and was seen leaving the stadium on crutches.

However, Klopp expects him to have an outside chance of playing a part against Watford but the game against Everton is a more realistic expectation.

Firmino looks good, we were obviously lucky,” Klopp told reporters. “Not as serious as we first thought. It will be close for tomorrow, big chance for the derby.”

“It is not as bad as it first looked.

“Because it is bobby there is a chance for tomorrow but he will be ready for the derby.

“Writing him off is silly because he recovers pretty quick.”
