Liverpool transfer news: Rafael Camacho ‘set to quit club and join Sporting’ just days after making Reds debut
Liverpool teenager Rafael Camacho is set to leave Anfield just days after being handed his senior debut.
Jurgen Klopp selected the 18-year-old to start Liverpool’s FA Cup third round clash at Wolves, and he played the full 90 minutes of the 2-1 defeat at right-back.
However, Camacho is set to seal a move away from Merseyside in the coming days to join Sporting CP in his hometown of Lisbon.
A deal is believed to have been agreed which would see Camacho sign for Sporting on loan until June 2020 – with his Liverpool contract expiring at the end of that month.
Reports in Portugal claim the teenager will arrive at the Jose Alvalade Stadium by the end of the week, securing a return to the club he left in 2013.
Camacho began his career in Sporting’s academy before leaving for Manchester City. After three years at the Etihad, Liverpool signed the youngster.
Previous reports suggest Sporting will have the option to buy Camacho throughout the loan deal for around £13.5million.
