Manchester United news: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tells Alexis Sanchez to get out of his seat after the forward was forced off through injury

Alexis Sanchez had the awkward moment of being told by his manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, to get out of his seat after being substituted in Manchester United’s FA Cup third round win over Reading.

Sanchez, who provided the assist for United’s second goal courtesy of Romelu Lukaku, was replaced by Marcus Rashford in the second half after being forced off with injury.

However, after making his way to the bench interim boss Solskjaer had to tell him he had planted himself on the wrong seat – and move to the row infront.

Solskjaer saw the funny side of it though and would have been pleased to see his side get the job done at Old Trafford against a battling Reading side.

Sanchez was handed his first United start since November and showed signs of getting back to his best in Saturday’s clash.

Therefore, the latest injury blow will be hugely frustrating for the Chilean – who has only just returned from a hamstring problem.

In footage captured on BT Sport, team-mate Juan Mata – who scored United’s first from the penalty spot – asked Sanchez what was wrong as he made his way to the bench.

The former Arsenal man pointed to his hamstring, before Solskjaer and first-team coach Mike Phelan quickly pointed out to the forward to move out of the former’s seat!

United’s five-match winning run will be put to the ultimate test when they face Tottenham at Wembley next Sunday.

Solskjaer’s men are six points off the Champions League places, while Spurs are the same point difference behind Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at the top.
