Marseille extend Garcia, Zubizarreta contracts
The club’s sporting director and head coach have signed contracts until 2021
Marseille have given new contracts to head coach Rudi Garcia and sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta, the club announced on Saturday.
The two have each signed new deals, tying them to the club until 2021.
Garcia intially joined the club in 2016 following stints with Roma and Lille that included a 2010-11 Ligue 1 title with the latter and two second-place finishes in Serie A with the former.

The manager led Marseille to the Europa League final last season, although his side were beaten soundly by Atletico Madrid 3-0 behind an Antoine Griezmann brace and a goal from Gabi.
Zubizarreta, a former Spain goalkeeper, was preivously at the helm of Athletic Bilbao and FC Barcelona before joining up with Marseille.
The club have mounted a strong start to their Ligue 1 campaign, winning six of the first 10 matches to open the French season, although the club looks unlikely to advance out of their Europa League group following two losses and a draw to open the competition.
In the league, they sit 11 points adrift of runaway leaders Paris Saint-Germain, and Marseille have been given a boost ahead of a clash with the league-leaders on Sunday by Garcia and Zubizarreta committing their futures long-term.
