Michael Brown tells talkSPORT Neil Warnock’s wife helped pick Sheffield United starting XI ‘after a dream’

Michael Brown has revealed a bizarre story of how Neil Warnock once picked his side when he was manager at Sheffield United.

Warnock managed the club from 1999 to 2007 where his highlights included reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup and League Cup and also winning promotion to the Premier League.

The current Cardiff City boss is famed for his foul-mouthed rants and disagreements with referees.

The 70-year-old has had a long managerial career that has also seen him take charge of Leeds United, Queens Park Rangers and Crystal Palace.

Brown, speaking exclusively to talkSPORT, recounted a story about Warnock and his team selection involving Andy Parkinson and Paul Peschisolido.

He said: “His wife Sharon certainly picks the teams.

“There was a young lad called Parkinson who was supposed to play. They had done all the team shape all week and then on Friday afternoon he’s all playing and tells his family.

“Then he gets in on Saturday and Sharon has had a dream that Peschisolido was about to score so unfortunately Parky didn’t make the bench and he changed it.

“That’s what you’ve got to deal with. There’s lot of stories like and that’s just a mild one.”
