Tottenham Hotspur news: Jermaine Jenas backs Spurs to lift a trophy this season
Jermaine Jenas is confident Tottenham Hotspur will win a trophy this season.
Spurs comfortably made it through to the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 7-0 demolition of Tranmere Rovers on Friday.
They have the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final to look forward to next week against Chelsea and then a tough last-16 draw against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
The north London club are also third in the Premier League and six points off leaders Liverpool.
They are still fighting for trophies in all four competition and the former Spurs player Jenas believes it may be their year to win something.
Speaking on BT Sport, Jenas said: “They’ve got the big semi-final coming up against Chelsea next week, which will be at the forefront of Mauricio’s mind when it comes to winning trophies.
“In the FA Cup they will see who they draw and see how they progress.
“Their squad is playing well enough and they are good enough players to do it, so fingers crossed.
“I think they might win something this year.”
