Top Star Finished With ROH, ROH Title Change, Dashwood Injured

It has just been confirmed that Ring of Honor talent Punishment Martinez has just concluded his run with the promotion. PWInsider reports that his contract recently expired and that he said his goodbyes to the talent and crew during ROH’s set of TV tapings in Las Vegas last night. It was noted that Martinez opted not to sign back up with ROH as he wanted to begin a new chapter in his career that would not see him tied down to an exclusive deal. Martinez has been competing in Ring of Honor since 2015, and he became an ROH World Television Champion during his time in the promotion. Martinez is currently 36-years-old, and it appears that he is now now clear to work wherever he chooses for his next career destination.
Punishment Martinez’s sudden ROH departure was not the only bit of news to come out of the latest Ring of Honor tapings from Las Vegas as it has just been reported by PWInsider that a title change took place during the tapings. Following the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view that ROH put on earlier this week, more shows were held in “Sin City,” and it appears that the ROH TV title has officially changed hands. Newly-signed ROH competitor Jeff Cobb was able to defeat the aforementioned Punishment Martinez to win the championship in what appears to have been the latter’s final match for the promotion. The championship victory from last night marks Jeff Cobb’s first title reign of any kind in Ring of Honor.

Tenille Dashwood was praised for her in-ring work during her time with WWE as Emma, and unsurprisingly, the Australian wrestler has continued to show what she is capable of on the independent circuit over the past few months. Dashwood currently competes for Ring of Honor as part of the Women of Honor division, but unfortunately, it looks like she will be stepping away from the ring for the foreseeable future. PWInsider says that Dashwood informed fans during the ROH tapings last night that she has been dealing with a shoulder injury for over six months now. Dashwood will be addressing the injury and receiving surgery very soon, and it was noted that Tenille’s injury is not part of any sort of storyline and is completely legitimate.
