NXT Takeover: WarGames Back, Alpha Club vs. Bullet Club, Purrazzo

Fans of the former WCW promotion will definitely remember the old WarGames match that the promotion used to do. The match featured competitors fight in two rings with a large cage surrounding the rings as teams competed inside the structure. The unique match disappeared for decades until WWE resurrected the concept as part of the NXT Takeover: WarGames event last November. The show and the return of the titular match ended up being a major success for WWE, so it is no surprise to learn that the company has just announced that the match will be coming back once again later this fall. NXT Takeover: WarGames II will be taking place on Saturday, November 17th, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Chris Jericho’s planned wrestling-themed cruise is coming up within the next couple of months. The wrestling veteran has managed to secure several big names from all over the independent wrestling circuit to compete during the cruise this fall, and as for Jericho himself, it has just been announced that he will indeed be wrestling during the cruise. A six-man tag team match pitting “The Alpha Club,” (which consists of Jericho, Nick Jackson, and Matt Jackson) against the Bullet Club’s Kenny Omega, Marty Scurll, and Cody Rhodes has been announced for the extravaganza. This new match will mark the second time that Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho have competed in a match against each other.

WWE is gearing up to bring in several female athletes from all over the world to compete in the Mae Young Classic tournament next month. One name that has been rumored to be joining the company for quite some time now is independent wrestling standout Deonna Purrazzo. After she was pulled from her planned appearance at All In, suspicions over whether or not she had signed with WWE continued to grow, but it definitely looks like she is on her way to the Performance Center after all. Rip Rogers, one of Purrazzo’s wrestling trainers, has confirmed that she will be starting her WWE career tomorrow. Purrazzo was used as an alternate in the Mae Young Classic last year, but perhaps she will be added to the tournament as a main player this time around.
