Nia Jax Taking Leave of Absence, Plans for Kane, Colons Return
It was being reported by some sources that Nia Jax quit WWE recently and walked out of this week’s Raw show, much like Neville reportedly did the week before. Pro Wrestling Sheet updated the story by reporting that Nia is not gone from WWE, but she has been granted a leave of absence from the company for personal reasons. There is no word on why she has left or when she may be back, but her work on the upcoming season of Total Divas has already been fulfilled, and it will still be airing without interruption. WWE was reportedly in the process of building towards a Nia Jax vs. Alexa Bliss feud for the Raw Women’s Championship before Jax was granted her leave of absence by management.
Smackdown stars Primo and Epico Colon were both sent over to Smackdown after this year’s Superstar Shakeup took place. The duo abandoned their ‘Shining Stars’ gimmick in favor of simply portraying themselves, but they were unfortunately taken out of action due to Primo suffering an injury, which has kept them out for almost the entire year. Luckily, PWInsider reported that the Colons finally returned to the ring in a dark match before Tuesday’s Smackdown show. They teamed with Mike Kanellis to face off against “The Perfect 10” Tye Dillinger, Chad Gable, and Shelton Benjamin. Primo was pinned by Dillinger after the latter hit the Tye Breaker to win.
Kane made a shocking return to the ring earlier on Monday’s Raw by helping Braun Strowman win a steel cage match against Roman Reigns. After not competing in WWE for a year, Kane will now be teaming up with Strowman, Cesaro, The Miz. and Sheamus in a 5-on-3 handicap match against The Shield at TLC this Sunday. PWInsider has reported that Kane’s return has been planned for months now, and yet, the company doesn’t have much planned for him. Kane will likely be competing at TLC and Survivor Series before leaving once again. Kane may be back for now, but do not get used to seeing him back in the ring on a full time basis.
