WWE Changing The Name of Another PPV, Celebrity At SmackDown & More
— WWE recently sent out a survey asking the WWE Universe what the company should call a new submission-themed Pay-Per-View. WWE.com now lists the 9/13 PPV as “Breaking Point” on the Canadian events schedule page. The event is still listed as “Unforgiven” on the main page and elsewhere on the site, but this could be a sign WWE is going with “Breaking Point.”
— In an interview with the Latest MMA News Now radio show, UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman says he’s been training with former WCW star and WWE SmackDown announcer Ernest “The Cat” Miller. Coleman said Miller’s training has given him the confidence to want a crack at at new UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida, but first has to go through Stephan Bonnar at UFC 100 on 7/11. That show will be headlined by UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Interim champion Frank Mir.
Warning: The following contains a minor *SPOILER* for Friday’s SmackDown:
— WrestleMania 25 guest celebrity Mickey Rourke was ringside at last night’s SmackDown tapings from Los Angeles, California. Chris Jericho acknowledged Rourke in a promo that he cut during the show.
