Kevin Nash Posts nWo Style Tribute to Gene Okerlund

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash recently posted a tribute on Twitter to “Mean” Gene Okerlund. The longtime WWE announcer and personality died on January 2 at the age of 76.

Nash’s Tweet claimed that Okerlund was to be the third man in the nWo if Hulk Hogan had refused the role. While Kevin’s Tweet was very tongue-in-cheek of course, his heartfelt sentiment to Okerlund was not.

Nash is one of many voices that were heard online in the hours following Gene’s passing. Retired and current pro wrestling talents from all over the world made their feelings known on social media. Many of the posts had a positive message in Gene’s memory.

Okerlund definitely had an impact on the pro wrestling world. He spent the better part of 48 years giving everything he had to the industry and his contributions will never be forgotten. For many fans, Mean Gene was the voice of WWE and his work in the company was just as important as that of the Superstars performing in the ring.

Most people don't know Gene was going to be third man if Hulk decided not to. As long as I have a heart beat you'll be in my heart. Miss you so much already my friend pic.twitter.com/uvp5yok2rL
