Backstage News On the Real Reason Why WWE Brought Rapper Wale to 205 Live This Week

As seen on WWE 205 Live this week, WWE fan and rapper Wale acted as a guest announcer for the night, calling the show alongside Nigel McGuinness, Vic Joseph and Percy Watson.

Wale has been closely associated with Major League Wrestling for the past several years, with MLW promoting his Walemania events that have taken place during WrestleMania week, and have featured stars such as Jim Ross, Alberto Del Rio and more.

According to PWInsider.com, with MLW now airing its Fusion show on BeIN Sports, WWE has been making overtures to on-air talents and behind-the-scenes MLW employees, so Wale’s appearance on WWE TV this week was said not to be a coincidence, as WWE is making moves to bring in talent from MLW’s Fusion show.

As for the Walemania events, while nothing has been confirmed, speculation is that it is unlikely MLW will continue to promote the events due to Wale’s new relationship with WWE. It’s worth stressing that Wale’s appearance on 205 Live this week was a one-off deal, and his future on WWE TV remains unknown.

Thanks for joining the team tonight @Wale! Think we need to talk to @WWEMaverick and get you back on in the near future! #205Live #SummerSlam pic.twitter.com/0q4qoQOYgp
