As noted, WWE star John Cena is currently on another hiatus from WWE due to movie filming commitments, and it appears as if he will be returning to the ring in time for WWE’s holiday events in December.
In addition to WWE Raw brand live events in the New York City area on 12/26, 12/27 and 12/29, John Cena is now being advertised for the Smackdown Live event on 12/30 in Tampa, FL. So as of now, it appears as if “free agent” Cena could be returning to either the Raw brand or the Smackdown Live brand when he makes his actual WWE TV return.

Cena was originally advertised for next month’s WWE Survivor Series PPV, however he has since been pulled from advertisements for the event, and Brock Lesnar appears to be replacing him, as The Beast is now officially advertised for the PPV.
Much like his old WrestleMania foe The Rock, John Cena is working with a full Hollywood plate at the moment, as he is currently filming “Bumblebee”, a spinoff movie to the “Transformers” franchise, and he has “Daddy’s Home 2”, “Ferdinand” and “The Pact” all in post-production. “Daddy’s Home 2”, the sequel to 2015’s “Daddy’s Home”, will be released on November 10th.
