El-Chadaille Bitshiabu (17) receives praise from PSG manager Christophe Galtier following “successful” debut
Speaking to the press following Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-1 win over Strasbourg in Ligue 1’s own French boxing-style set of fixtures, PSG manager Christophe Galtier praised defedner El-Chadaille Bitshiabu (17) who was given his debut at left-back at the Parc des Princes. It came following a muscle injury suffered by Juan Bernat.

Galtier said that his side worked in the week so that “Chad” could participate on the left of the back four in case of Juan Bernat’s unavailability. The manager then went on to say that “we realised that he was not comfortable offensively, so we had to change our organisation a bit to play the ball out of our defence” but that “he was very good defensively, and considering the context, it was a very successful first outing for him.”
The context that Galtier refers to was a match which was a significant test for the Parisians, as Strasbourg equalised midway through the second half through a Marquinhos own-goal following his first-half opener. It looked as if PSG would be dropping points at home, especially following Neymar’s quick-fire sending-off. However a penalty from Kylian Mbappé in the dying seconds gave the Parc des Princes faithful something to cheer about, and most importantly all three points to PSG.
