“The door is open for a Lionel Messi return” states Barcelona’s economic vice-president
According to Le Parisien Barcelona’s economic vice-president Eduard Romeo has openly admitted that a return to the club for Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi could be financially viable.
On Thursday, Barça’s economic vice-president Eduard Romeu made following remarks:
“He is an asset for Barça and the doors are open to him. It’s a matter for the sporting management and if the sporting management considers it, we will get to work on that objective.”
Thirteen months after his departure from Barça, Messi continues to be the talk of Catalonia. On 29 July, President Laporta had already hinted that Barça would not give up on the idea of seeing Messi wear the Barcelona shirt again. The Argentine has shone for PSG this season, making 12 appearances and scoring seven goals already for Christophe Galtier’s side this season.
Our colleagues at Get Spanish Football News reported that Lionel Messi could be a Barcelona player from next July, as broken by journalist Veronica Brunati.
The former Barça captain’s current deal with PSG expires on 30 June 2023 and the Argentine journalist reports that Messi will be a Barça player once again from 1 July 2023.
