Unlocked Car Stolen In Burr Ridge Neighborhood: Cops
BURR RIDGE, IL – The owner of a year-old SUV believed it was unlocked with the key fob inside when it was stolen earlier this month from his driveway, Burr Ridge police said.
The theft occurred overnight May 8 on Dartmouth Court, according to a police report obtained by Patch.
Inside the 2022 Ford Explorer were a set of golf clubs valued at $2,000 and sunglasses valued at $175, among other items, the report said.

Officers obtained video that showed the suspects were in a red Jaguar SUV.
Not long after, the owner used a tracking app to determine that his Explorer had stopped in Chicago. Chicago police verified the car was there without anyone inside.

Thieves often steal cars to commit other crimes and then abandon them.
Using other cameras, Burr Ridge police discovered that the drivers of the red Jaguar and the Burr Ridge resident’s Explorer committed a vehicle burglary in Willow Springs, police said.
