1 Hospitalized In Crash Between 2 Trucks On Orchard Road: Aurora PD

AURORA, IL — One person was hospitalized after a two-truck crash happened Thursday morning on Orchard Road, according to Aurora police.

Officers responded at 5:55 a.m. to Orchard Road, just north of Jericho Road, for a crash. Police determined a 2023 Volvo tractor-trailer, driven by a 37-year-old man, was driving north on Orchard Road when he crashed into a disabled 2006 Freightliner truck that was blocking traffic in the curb lane, Lieutenant Joseph Howe told Patch.

The Freightliner driver, a 26-year-old man, was hospitalized to be treated for minor injuries, Howe said.

Both trucks were towed from the scene. Northbound Orchard Road was shut down from Prairie Street to Jericho Road while crews cleared the roadway.

Howe said no citations were issued in the incident.
