Conservative Gala Eyes Hinsdale Schools: Flyer
HINSDALE, IL – A Hinsdale-based conservative group is hosting a gala and riverboat cruise this fall in Chicago, saying it champions “traditional family values and common-sense leadership.”
A flyer for the “All Aboard for the School Board” gala says the proceeds will support Hinsdale High School District 86 and Hinsdale School District 181. Tickets are $495 each.
The flyer says the hosting group is Concerned Parents Illinois. One of the hosts and the listed contact person is Kristina McCloy, a Hinsdale resident and a Downers Grove Township trustee.

It’s unclear whether Concerned Parents Illinois is the same group as the political action committee run by McCloy, Concerned Parents, which is on file with the state elections board.
In its state filing, the committee says its goal is to “support candidates for school board and other offices and political committees.”

The flyer gave no information specifying how the gala’s proceeds would be spent. School board elections are next April.
Patch left an emailed message Tuesday with McCloy.
McCloy also manages the “Concerned Parents of Hinsdale” Facebook page. Earlier this year, she asserted on the page that schools are hiding the issue of African American children attacking white children.
The gala is set for Sept. 6 at the London House in downtown Chicago. The flyer promises “an unforgettable night filled with gourmet dining, an inspiring keynote speaker, and first-class entertainment.”
“Your support will empower us to continue our mission of fostering a brighter future for our children,” the flyer said.
Besides McCloy, the listed hosts are Caroline Flanagan, Lauren Kavanaugh, Angela Mainu, Paige McNaul and Lyubov Roseri. Flanagan, Kavanaugh and McNaul each gave the political committee $1,000.
Last fall, McCloy was appointed to fill a vacant seat on the Downers Grove Township board, which includes parts of Hinsdale, Darien and Burr Ridge, among other towns. Her position is up for election in April.
In a story last month, Patch reported on some of McCloy’s comments on the Facebook page. She has written about “our open border,” a “tranny boy,” “grooming” and “woke gender ideology.”
She has not responded to Patch’s previous inquiries.
