As Calls Grow For Biden To Quit Race, He'll 'Leave The Stage': Expert
WASHINGTON, DC — As Democratic lawmakers call for President Biden to withdraw from the race, there remains uncertainty about his future.
“I’m generally opposed to these kinds of disruptions in normally democratic systems by a bunch of elites telling the electorate what to do,” veteran Democratic strategist Hank Sheinkopf told Patch. “It’s not good for them. It tends to break up parties.”
However, a poll by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research this week showed more than 60 percent of Democratic voters want Biden to relinquish his reelection bid.

Biden, who will turn 82 two weeks after Election Day, has been under constant scrutiny since the debate performance three weeks ago sent shockwaves of anxiety throughout the party.
“Could it have been handled better? The reality is, you can’t handle it better because there’s no roadmap. How do you tell an existing president, the most powerful person in the universe, to go take a hike?” Sheinkopf said.

But as pressure mounts from all fronts, including donors, Sheinkopf believes Biden will “leave the stage” and he’ll “address the nation.”
He expects Vice President Kamala Harris would ultimately get the nomination, but cautions, “You’re going to have to work this out before [getting to the convention].”
On the other side of the aisle, former president Donald Trump was already leading in battleground polls when he was shot during a rally last weekend.
“That assassination attempt has allowed Trump to become the leader, unquestionably so, of a movement that has almost God-like force to it.”
