Father And Son Arrested By Joliet Police After Suburban Shooting
JOLIET — Two members of Joliet’s Paz family — 38-year-old Oscar and his teenage son Nicholas, 18 — were taken away in handcuffs and their two loaded guns were confiscated as evidence by Joliet police officers this week, according to arrest logs.
Joliet police say Oscar Paz and his son Nicholas Paz were both arrested and released on a Notice to Appear on two charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 10:57 p.m. Monday, the Joliet Police Department was requested by the Willow Springs Police Department to check an address in the 500 block of Mack Street for a Ford Bronco with regard to a shots fired investigation in their jurisdiction.

Joliet’s officers conducted a traffic stop after locating the Ford driving near Black Road and Mack Street. Oscar Paz was the driver, and his son Nicholas Paz was the passenger.
Both exited the vehicle and were detained. Upon search of the vehicle, Joliet police say they recovered two loaded handguns from the center console of the vehicle.

Oscar and Nicholas Paz were both placed into custody without incident. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
