Frogs Flock To Burr Ridge Village Hall
BURR RIDGE, IL – Burr Ridge Village Hall recently had visitors that liked to jump.
At Monday’s Village Board meeting, Mayor Gary Grasso said, “A couple hundred frogs ended up in various areas of Village Hall due to the rains.”
He said this further makes the case for a new Village Hall, something officials have talked about for years. The project would cost millions.

Soon, Grasso said, the village would provide trustees with options for how to make the project happen.
The village is among the few towns without any debt. The mayor noted the village just received an unexpected infusion of $2 million in sales tax income. (Officials said a business had not been paying its taxes.)

“We are in a very enviable position as a village, and now, we are $2 million flush,” the mayor said. “That doesn’t mean we just go and spend money, of course.”
Fifteen years ago, a space study showed the need for a new Village Hall.
The topic of a new Village Hall has come up over the years. In spring 2023, Grasso said he had an idea for a new Village Hall building, but did not reveal it. He said he wanted to be conservative about improvements to the building, given the plan to replace it.
In 2022, Grasso said Village Hall, which was built in 1985, had not aged well.
At the time, Village Administrator Evan Walter said millions of dollars must be spent on the building in the coming years. That prompted Grasso to say that the village should seriously consider a new building.
More than a decade ago, the police department moved out of Village Hall and into a new structure next door.
