Runners 21 and older can present their bib on race day for one free beer at Napper Tandy’s in Northport.
Steve comes from a running background and belongs to Northport Running Club, Donna said.
“When we first started Maggie’s Mission, there was an opportunity to create a race called Maggie’s Mile,” she told Patch. “It was supposed to be a downhill run. We decided on New Year’s Day, because there weren’t many runs held on that day. It started off as Maggie’s Mile because of our history with running.”
Maggie’s Mile eventually evolved into Maggie’s Sunset S’more-K, as Maggie loved S’mores and sunsets.
