Manhole Explosion Shuts Down Sepulveda Boulevard
LOS ANGELES, CA — A manhole explosion on Sepulveda Boulevard prompted authorities to shut down the the busy boulevard in Mission Hills Friday afternoon.
The blast happened at about 3 p.m. Friday in the 11000 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“Firefighters have a protection line in place and are clearing a safety zone of vehicles and pedestrians, said Margaret Stewart, LAFD spokeswoman. “There is currently no fire but light smoke visible.

“There are no hazards at this time, she added. “LAFD is awaiting LADWP for their expertise in investigating the situation.”
No one is injured in the blast.
