San Ramon Planning Commission To Review Golden Skate Housing Project
SAN RAMON, CA — The San Ramon Planning Commission will consider an extension of up to six years for the application filing period of a project to build 47 homes on the site of the Golden Skate, the Tri-Valley’s last remaining skating rink.
The Windflower Fields Townhome proposes 47 multi-family residential condos and 16 Accessory Dwelling Units on an 3.47-acre parcel on 2701 Hooper Drive, the location of the Golden Skate.
The Planning Commission approved the application in December 2021, but the approval expired Dec. 7, 2024 per the City’s Municipal Code, according to a city staff report. The city received an extension request to allow additional time for constructed-related permit. The applicant told the city that while they have submitted plans for for a Final Map, Site Development Permit, and Grading Permit, the project has been delayed because of a landslide on the adjacent property.
