Ridgewood Among NJ Monthly's Favorite Food Towns

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Ridgewood was named one of New Jersey Monthly Magazine’s favorite restaurant towns, according to a just-released list.

“We’re kind of the restaurant capital of Bergen County,” said Tony Damiano, president of the Ridgewood Guild — a nonprofit whose purpose is to promote local businesses —, in the article.

Ridgewood, NJ Monthly said, offers a range of prices and food choices, “like all good dining towns.”

Lifelong Ridgewood resident and Harlem Globetrotters president Keith Dawkins is a regular at Date’N’Dog Café, and recommends Daily Treat Restaurant and French bakery Sook Pastry, NJ Monthly said.

“They just nail it every time,” Dawkins said of the pastry shop in the magazine article.

Sook Pastry was also voted a 2023 Best of Bergen winner for its dessert menu, according to northjersey.com.

Another Ridgewood restaurant Steel Wheel Tavern won in the “Happy Hour” category, and Van Dyk’s Homemade Ice Cream won the category for its namesake menu item.
