New YogaSix Studio To Open In Downtown Somerville

SOMERVILLE, NJ — A new yoga studio, YogaSix, is coming to Downtown Somerville.

The franchise location is planning to open in the late winter/early spring at 181 W Main St. in Somerville, said Manager Supriya Mackie.

“It’s a modern approach to yoga, a full sensory experience,” said Mackie to Patch. “We have a full mood lighting in the studio, a surround sound, essential oils, cold towels.”

YogaSix offers six different types of yoga with classes ranging from hot and powerful to slow and mindful. They also offer beginner classes and sculpt classes.

“Everyone is welcome. Each class is not only accessible for a certain level. They’re all-level classes, even if some are maybe more fast-paced or slower-paced, just depending on what you’re looking for — stretching, strengthening,” said Mackie.

Mackie, who also teaches Vinyasa Flow, has been doing yoga since she started college. After graduation, she did her teacher training in 2016.

“When I first started, it was, like intriguing as like a way to move my body. I was a gymnast when I was younger, but then once I started practicing,” said Mackie of her passion with yoga. “It helped alleviate low back pain that I had, and also, like connecting to the breath really helped me a lot with anxiety.”

Prior to opening, YogaSix is offering Founding Member pricing for discounts.
