High Tide Brings 25 Tonnes Of Trash Along In Mumbai, Workers Clear Garbage From Marine Drive Amid Heavy Rain

Mumbai has been grappling with heavy downpour and water logging for the past few days. With the high tides, tonnes of trash is back on the beaches, emanating foul smell around.

On Saturday, high tide threw tonnes of garbage along Mumbai’s iconic Marine Drive, as city was brought to a standstill amid heavy rain.

Mumbai civic body workers cleared the trash amid roaring sea, working continuously in heavy rain and foul smell.

The workers removed five metric tonnes of garbage from from Girgaum Chowpatty, 50 metric tonnes from Dadar and Mahim Chowpatty, 110 metric tonnes from Versova and Juhu beach and eight metric tonnes from Gorai beach.
