With No Medical Facility For About 100 Km, This Man Has Decided To Open Hospital In His Village

It was lack of any hospital for about a 100 kilometres from his village Kalipatti in Tamil Nadu that drove a farmer’s son Meghanathan P to study medicine and take it up a profession.

On Tuesday, the young doctor who was awarded Pandit Shitla Charan Bajpai Gold Medal for being the best postgraduate student in pediatrics for 2018, said that he would go back to his village to set up a hospital for children.

The early years in life were difficult for Dr Meghanathan as he did his studies and assisted his father in tilling and farming the half an acre of land the family had.
