VIDEO: Barca star Duggan calls on English players to follow Sancho and seek fortunes abroad
With Borussia Dortmund’s young talent getting his break with England, the Lionesses star believes that playing overseas is a brilliant experience
Having won a host of major titles at Manchester City, England women’s star Toni Duggan took a leap in the dark last year upon moving to Barcelona.
It is a decision Duggan has not regretted, as she has adapted to life in the Catalan city and become a key part of the Blaugrana side that is participating in this season’s Champions League.
Historically, English players have been rather reluctant to move abroad, although with Jadon Sancho’s call-up to the Three Lions set-up after moving to Borussia Dortmund there are signs that young talents could benefit from the move.
