Rs 54 Crore Collected As Fine From 4,347 Environment Norms Violators As Delhi Air Quality Improves

Delhi’s toxic air has been making headlines for quite some time now. To curb air pollution and improve air quality in the National Capital Region, a joint clean air campaign was launched jointly by Union Environment Minister Harsh Vardhan and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on February 10.

The ‘Clean Air For Delhi’ has seen 4,347 violations, and 1,892 instances of slapping of penalties, leading to the collection of Rs 54 crore over the past week.

The aim of the campaign is to find a permanent solution to pollution in the National Capital Region, including Delhi, via experiments and awareness drive over a fortnight.
