“Will not be playing in the @NFL anymore these owners can cancel deals do whatever they want at anytime we will see if the @NFLPA hold them accountable sad they can just void guarantees anytime going on 40m 2 months will see if they pay up !” Brown tweeted Sunday morning.

Brown also indicated he was being held to different standard than other NFL players, commentators and executives who have been embroiled in sex scandals, including taking a shot at Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s arrest in a prostitution sting in February.

“Kraft got caught in the parlor AB speculations fired different strokes different folks clearly,” Brown tweeted.

Brown then tweeted how former tight end and current analyst Shannon Sharpe is still on television despite sexual harassment accusations and how his own former quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is still playing years after being accused of rape.

Brown, 31, was released by the Patriots Friday after reports that he sent threatening text messages to one of the woman accusing him of sexual harassment. He played one game with New England, but the franchise finally gave in to mounting pressure to part ways with the star as more accusations came out. His tenure with the team lasted 11 days and included one touchdown reception.

Brown, a six-time All-Pro with Pittsburgh, is arguably the most talented receiver in the league. But he found himself traded from the Steelers to Oakland in the offseason, then cut by the Raiders before ever playing a game. A bizarre string of behavior that included getting into a heated argument with his general manager, injuring his feet in cryotherapy, refusing to play without a specific helmet, and posting a private conversation he had with his coach resulted in his asking for and receiving his release.

Brown found himself in more controversy the day after he signed with the Patriots, when his ex-trainer filed a civil lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault and rape in 2017 and 2018. Brown denied the charges.

A Sports Illustrated story then revealed a pattern of troubling behavior by Brown, ranging from stiffing people who worked for him to unwanted sexual advances. The woman who accused Brown in that story later said he sent her threatening messages after the story was published, leading the Patriots to release him.
