T-Rex Cop, Skeleton Horse Deployed By NYPD For Halloween
NEW YORK — A dinosaur and an unusually bony horse joined the ranks of the NYPD for Halloween, as even New York’s Finest couldn’t resist dressing up.
Trick-or-treaters in Brooklyn’s 66th Precinct might have seen a prehistoric officer on the streets Wednesday — the Police Department posted a photo to Twitter of a T-rex reporting for duty. The king of the cretaceous period still put safety first by donning a bright yellow vest.
Even a member of the NYPD’s Mounted Unit got in on the fun. The department shared another photo of a police horse with its bones showing, thanks to the magic of makeup.
“If you happen to see this @NYPDSpecialops Mounted Unit horse this evening, don’t be alarmed!” the NYPD tweeted. “He’s just trying to blend in and get some candy too.” (The department did not say whether the equestrian cop preferred M&Ms or Skittles.)
The holiday’s spooky spirit didn’t stop officers from doing serious police work. The NYPD took to Twitter again Thursday morning to share pictures of drugs and a pistol that cops recovered on Halloween in Brooklyn.
