Two Matches for NXT Takeover, Gargano Producing, Kofi in Ghana

WWE has announced two of the matches that will be taking place at the upcoming NXT Takeover event next month. NXT’s next Takeover show will be held in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and it will be the 25th Takeover show in NXT history. Triple H has confirmed two huge title matches for the big show. One match is a bout for the NXT Women’s Champion with current champion Shayna Baszler defending against Io Shirai, and the other match is a singles match between Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole for the NXT Championship. More matches will be announced for the card within the next few weeks, but the Cole vs. Gargano match is expected to headlined the show. The next Takeover show will air live on June 1st.

Johnny Gargano has constantly proved himself to be one of the very best in-ring performers in NXT, but he is not stopping there. It appears that the NXT Champion is also beginning to learn about some of the behind the scenes aspects of WWE. Gargano informed his fans on social media that he served as a producer for a match during NXT’s recent live event in Largo, Florida. “Johnny Wrestling” commented on the new job on social media and even jokingly referred to his boss, Triple H, as his “dad.” Gargano has years of experience and wrestling knowledge at this stage of his career. It is unclear if Gargano will be working as a producer more often or if this was a one-off occasion, but he definitely has plenty of wisdom to share if he does take on this new role more regularly.

The #1 killer of success is complacency.
Especially when it comes to this job.. there’s just so many different sides and intricacies to it, you can always get better and learn something new.

After Kofi Kingston won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35, he shared a video of people reacting to his big win in his home country of Ghana. Kingston revealed in that post that he has not visited Ghana since 1993, but he also added that he would not be opposed to returning home. After all of the years, the champion is indeed returning to Ghana at last. Kingston announced on social media that he will be coming back to speak with the president, visiting tourist destinations, meet the children and fans, and also take part in media events. Kingston will be there from May 30th-June 2nd. He also mentioned that WWE cameras will be coming with him to film a new documentary based on his return to Ghana.

Well it’s officially official. For the first time since 1993, I’m going back to my home country! Though it was 26 years ago, I still have so many vivid memories of my last visit to Ghana.… https://t.co/0b4g2rjAMh
