Chick-fil-A's Mac & Cheese Is 1st New Menu Item Since 2016
ATLANTA — One of America’s most popular fast-food chain has its first new permanent menu item since 2016. On Monday, Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A said its mac and cheese item is now available nationwide. The item is available as a side option with any lunch, dinner, Kid’s Meal or catering order at Chick-fil-A. Participating restaurants across the country will also begin offering Frosted Caramel Coffee, a new seasonal, sweet treat.
Chick-fil-A said the item is a classic macaroni and cheese recipe, featuring a blend of cheeses including cheddar, parmesan and Romano. It is baked in restaurant each day.
Mac & Cheese was tested in five markets and passed with flying colors. “We have a very high bar when it comes to adding a menu item,” said Amanda Norris, executive director of menu and packaging, “but the feedback from our customers in the test markets made this decision easy.”
Frosted Caramel Coffee combines Chick-fil-A’s custom blend of cold-brewed coffee with vanilla Icedream dessert and caramel syrup. This seasonal offering will be available until Nov. 9 or while supplies last.
The Atlanta-based fast-food chain is a family-owned and privately held restaurant company founded in 1967 by S. Truett Cathy. Chick-fil-A has more than 2,400 restaurants in 47 states and Washington, D.C.
Earlier this year, the American Customer Satisfaction Index once again chose Chick-fil-A as the nation’s favorite restaurant for the fourth consecutive year. The index is based on input from nearly 23,000 consumers. The chain scored an 86 on the 100-point scale, down one point from last year.
