UPDATE: Two days after plans were revealed for Chyna (Joanie Laurer) to be part of a televised intervention, celebrity Tom Arnold asked TMZ why an intervention did not take place off-camera and before a TV shoot.
Arnold, as the voice of reason going through his own addiction battles, said time is the most important element and action should have been taken before a TV show was filmed.

There were plans to film an intervention for Chyna (Joanie Laurer) at a rehab center prior to her death, according to Laurer’s manager.
TMZ talked to Laurer’s manager Anthony Anzaldo, who said that he recently signed a deal with the producers of the TV show “Intervention” to help her with recent prescription drug use.

Anzaldo said Laurer was dependent on sleep and pain medication to make it through the day. He wanted to get Laurer’s closest wrestling friends together, such as “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Mick Foley, to do a televised show.
“An interventionalist was already lined up as was a facility that was going to take her for 90 days,” Anzaldo told TMZ.
Anzaldo and Laurer were already working on a documentary project on Laurer’s attempted comeback and goal to be accepted into the WWE Hall of Fame that kept her in front of cameras.
Laurer was last heard from on Sunday/Monday, April 17 and 18. She was then found dead on Wednesday afternoon, April 20 when Anzaldo had not heard from her in a few days.
“I found her,” Anzaldo said when he entered Laurer’s apartment in California. “She looked (expletive) peaceful” after appearing to die in her sleep.
