Mauro Ranallo Works In Japan On First MMA Event Since WWE Split

Former SmackDown announcer Mauro Ranallo on Saturday returned to calling MMA action for the first time since his messy divorce with WWE.
Ranallo teamed with former partner and MMA legend Frank Shamrock at Yokohama Arena for Rizin FF 5 in Yokohama, Japan. It was a reunion for the announce team of Ranallo and Shamrock which once worked Strikeforce events for Showtime before UFC bought that promotion in 2013.
Ranallo tweeted his appreciation to MMA fans on Sunday:

I want to the #MMA community for their support. Tonight meant EVERYTHING to me. #RIZINFF
Though WWE recently released a statement stating Ranallo’s contract runs thought August, CBS Sports reported last week that Ranallo isn’t expected to appear on WWE TV again.
