After berating the officials at half-time, Motta was dismissed by the referee and was forced to watch the second half from the stands.
PSG ultimately lost 3-0 to Odense, much to the chagrin of Motta.
The former midfielder enjoyed a glittering playing career, winning two La Liga titles at Barcelona, Serie A with Inter, and five Ligue 1 titles with PSG.
He also won two Champions League trophies throughout his playing days, for Barca and then with Inter – in 2009-10, during a spell with current Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.
It remains to be seen if Motta can repeat such successes from the touchline, with the 38-year-old having been handed the PSG U-19s job following his retirement in the summer.
